<Mr_O> electronic music is
on its way out
<Mr_O> http://www.witchazel.com
<v-ger> hehe - funny that
you'd say electronic music is on the way out when your band looks like
a bunch of motley crue roadies
<Mr_O> Electronic music lacks
the integrity that Witchazel portrays at each show. Come check it out
<v-ger> rock music has been
eaten away by mtv
<v-ger> it'll be gone soon
for good
<v-ger> in a few years at
MOST
<v-ger> besides - my sampler
never gets drunk and flashes its ego
<Mr_O> you said the magic
word dude "sampler" that just represents everything that is fake and plastic
<Mr_O> a "sampler" can never
replace a good guitar or a bass riff
<v-ger> actually i think
of the guitar / bass / vocals/ drum combo as the biggest impedance to creativity
in modern music
<v-ger> every possible combination
has been done
<v-ger> mostly i sample acoustic
instruments and sounds which i create
<v-ger> plus i can make an
entire album worth of work with no one else forgetting their part
<v-ger> or getting pissed
or jealous
<v-ger> rock music is so
close to done
<v-ger> and electronic music
is just really emerging
<v-ger> the only thing rock
can do is TRY to sound as good as it once did - which is just copying old
ideas
<v-ger> otherwise it will
all just sound crappy like korn
<Mr_O> I can make an entire
album with freshly written parts in the studio
<v-ger> i can play all the
parts live on-stage by myself
<Mr_O> you're comparing korn
to any rock bands?? dude where were you all that time when all those rock
bands were filling up the arenas??? oh well maybe you weren't even born
then. you're probably a member of this stupid/ignorant electronica generation,
besides when I say rock I'm not talking about greasy hair 80s bands I'm
talking about Zep, I'm talking about Hendrix, hell! I'm talking about Mighty
SABBATH! and many many more and you, you're trying to argue w
<Mr_O> as your back up
<v-ger> the mighty sabbath
was good in the 70's
<v-ger> looking kinda saggy
these days don't you think ?
<Mr_O> have you ever seen
them on stage? your answer is most probably is a NO so don't even try to
argue about that
<v-ger> my point being -
there are only so many comeback tours that robert plant can do before
they have to wheel his old ass on-stage
<v-ger> after that - what's
left ? old embittered fans ?
<Mr_O> dude what are u gonna
do when you get old? nobody's gonna stay fourteen now are they??? so you
need to do something about your fixation with the age thing
<v-ger> <---26
<v-ger> heh
<Mr_O> well see, you're almost
there then, how old is Fatboy Slim?
<v-ger> i haven't seen any
good NEW rock come out since pink floyd - MANY albums ago
<v-ger> i give a rat's ass
about fatboy slim - he's just about the worst example of electronic music
i can think of
<v-ger> hehe
<Mr_O> and we hardly hear
from "Kraftwerks" anymore don't we???
<v-ger> new album out last
year
<v-ger> hehe
<Mr_O> yeah and I heard it
and it sounded like crap in my opinion
<-----VERY believable
<v-ger> plus there are new
bands coming out every day that produce excellent non derivative work
<v-ger> unlike rock - where
you can only get a job as a cover band unless you get signed to a HUGE
label
<Mr_O> well you see, to my
ear, those "new electronica bands" are all computer buzzes and beeps so
I guess it's just a matter of taste
It's funny what you can do by pushing the right buttons. Korn must be a touchy subject among people who's musical taste hasn't advanced since Bad Company. Hint : When ranting, be sure to occasionally hit "enter" or you'll run out of space. Incidentally, this guy came into an electronic music channel on irc seemingly only to spam for his page and tell us that electronic music sucks. He also comes from a town near my home town (what a hellhole) called Richmond (what a BIGGER hellhole) where about 9/10ths of the bands that play live are classic rock cover bands. The scene in Richmond seems to center around getting 16 year old girls drunk and date raping them in the bed of a rusty pickup truck. Damn newfangled doohickieys, them samplers. When he said "mighty sabbath" I honestly pictured him doing the little devil horn thing with his pinkie and index finger while typing with the other hand - didn't you ?
